My new kids’ books were a major Temu fail – the odd translations had me laughing

A MOM couldn’t help but laugh when she noticed a huge fail in the new children’s books she bought off Temu.
After seeing the strange translations, she said she wouldn’t repurchase from Temu.
Camille (@chaoswithcamille) shared the shopping fail in a TikTok video.
“I got these books off of Temu for my kids, mainly for my little baby girl,” she said.
She scrunched up the fabric animal books that also served as a toy.
“It makes noises, a little ASMR for you,” she joked.
The mom opened up the pages of the book to show off the cartoon drawings of dinosaurs and animals alike.
It wasn’t until she started reading the books to her daughter that she noticed some glaring mistakes.
“I was reading them to her as we were driving down to Yuma to visit my grandparents and I got to a page and I’m like hm,” she said.
Turning from a page about caterpillars, she showed off the following section about chickens.
The mom, however, frowned at the word choice Temu picked for the chicken: “C**k.”
“I get that’s the technical name but could we not have put rooster or hen or chicken?” she said.
In another book titled “Jungle Tales,” she noticed another mistake that had her giggling.
She opened up to a page with a photo of a cartoon raccoon.
Except, it wasn’t a raccoon, it was a “raccoo.”
“I like that one and also Cervus Nippon,” she said, turning to a page of a cartoon deer.
After looking up the term, she found out Temu had meant a spotted deer.
“I mean that one was a rough translation. Don’t buy your books off Temu if you want them to learn the correct words of things,” she said.
“Pretty funny. I think my favorite is probably the raccoo.”
