According to The Athletic, Kylian Mbappé was told to remain at PSG and subsequently in France until the Olympics in 2024. The 2024 rendition of the games is set to be hosted in the nation’s capital – Paris.

The hosting of the Olympic Games in Paris is a momentous occasion for France, with it being the first time the games have been held in Europe since London in 2012. As part of the bid, the representation of major sporting talents has been seen as playing a major part in their success. Kylian Mbappé is undoubtedly one of the biggest sporting talents in the world, not just football.

With the presence of such sporting superstars being present in France seen as important in the promotion of the competition, Mbappé remaining in France has been a key task for several parties. According to The Athletic, several attempts from the France Football Federation, Ligue 1, politicians and other organisations have been made to ensure that the 25-year-old did not leave France before the Olympic Games were hosted in France’s capital city. It appears they have had their wish granted with the France captain still in Paris but not for much longer with his long-anticipated move to Real Madrid on the horizon.

Will Mbappé feature at the Olympics?

The PSG forward is expected to feature for Les Bleus at the Olympics, The Athletic report. However, with the Games scheduled to coincide with preseason preparations ahead of the 2024/25 season, an agreement will need to be reached by all parties involved to allow the France international to represent his country at the summer games.
