2025 Porsche Taycan Turbo GT arrives with up to 1,092 hp – The Torque Report

Porsche is ready to take on the Lucid Air Sapphire and Tesla Model S Plaid with the introduction of the Taycan Turbo GT and the track-focused Taycan Turbo GT with Weissach Package. The latter, geared for ultimate performance, ditches rear seats to boost the power-to-weight ratio.

Both models boast over 1,000 horsepower, pushing boundaries in driving dynamics with a combination of lightweight construction and aerodynamic enhancements. A more advanced pulse inverter, utilizing silicon carbide as the semiconductor material, powers the rear axle.

The Taycan Turbo GT recently made headlines by clinching the title of the fastest electric series-production car at the Weathertech Raceway Laguna Seca on February 23, 2024. Clocking an impressive lap time of 1:27.87, Porsche’s development driver Lars Kern showcased the exceptional capabilities of this high-performance electric vehicle.

Notably, the Taycan Turbo GT with Weissach Package is not just a record holder but a record-breaker. Prior to its official market debut, it secured a new class record at the Nürburgring, with Kern achieving a remarkable lap time of 7:07.55. This performance surpasses the previous record set by the Taycan Turbo S back in August 2022 by a significant 26 seconds.

The powerful duo of Taycan Turbo GT models is not just about raw power; it’s a meticulously crafted combination of acceleration, braking, cornering grip, aerodynamics, and stability.

To add an extra thrill, the Taycan Turbo GT introduces an innovative “Attack Mode,” providing an additional 120 kW (160 hp) of power for 10 seconds at the push of a button. This feature, designed for track use, enhances the driving experience and mirrors the technology used in Porsche’s Electric ABB FIA Formula E World Championship racing cars.

The Taycan Turbo GT and Taycan Turbo GT with Weissach Package, boast 580 kW (777 hp) with a peak overboost power of up to 760 kW (1019 hp). With Launch Control that increases to up to 760 kW (1019 hp) of overboost power or up to 815 kW (1092 hp) for two seconds according to the peak power measurement method.The acceleration is quick with a 0-60 mph sprint taking only just 2.2 seconds (2.1 seconds with the Weissach Package).

The Weissach Package adds extensive aerodynamics and lightweight features, making it the ultimate choice for those seeking an even more exhilarating driving experience.

On the outside the Taycan Turbo GT features exclusive design elements, lightweight forged wheels, and Matrix Design LED headlights. The interior gets Race-Tex features, Turbo GT-specific tuning, and a Sport Chrono package.

The Taycan Turbo GT with Weissach Package amps things up a bit, with additional aerodynamic enhancements, a fixed carbon fiber rear wing, and exclusive options like a striped wrap in Volt Blue, black, or matte black.

The pricing for the 2025 Taycan Turbo GT and Taycan Turbo GT with Weissach Package at $231,995, promising an electrifying driving experience that goes beyond expectations. Both models are now available for order, with expected arrivals at U.S. dealers in the summer of 2024.
