Man United have not put Gareth Southgate at the top of their list of potential Erik ten Hag replacements, sources have told Football Insider.
It is believed Southgate, 53, is among multiple contenders to replace the Dutchman and is well-known by expected new sporting director Dan Ashworth and is admired by Sir Jim Ratcliffe and his INEOS organisation.
However, well-placed sources have told Football Insider that there are a number of names on the Red Devils’ list above the England boss, who is not particularly high on the pecking order.
United will be reluctant to wait for Southgate to conclude his business with England at the incoming Euros in the summer if they are to make a managerial change.
