Lewis Bate could win a Leeds United contract reprieve after thriving on loan at MK Dons, sources have told Football Insider.
It is believed that Bate, 21, looked set to leave Elland Road when his contract expired at the end of the season.
However, well-placed sources have told Football Insider that Leeds are weighing up handing him a new deal after his impressive spell in League Two.
After joining on a six-month loan spell in January, he has been a regular for MK Dons having racked up 15 appearances in all competitions.

The former Chelsea academy star has thrived in the fourth tier having averaged 3.1 successful duels per 90, 18 interceptions, 5.5 balls recovered per 90 and 90 per cent pass accuracy.
He joined Leeds in 2021 from Chelsea for a reported £1.5million but has only made five senior appearances since.
Before his loan move, he made just one outing for Leeds this season – a one-minute cameo in their 2-1 League Cup first-round win against Shrewsbury Town in September.
Bate earned regular game time during his loan spell to League One side Oxford City last season but missed the last nine games of the campaign with a hand injury.
Daniel Farke’s side look set to offer another young star a new contract, with Football Insider revealing (20 March) that teenage sensation Archie Gray could land a bumper new deal amid interest from top-six Premier League outfits.
Leeds sit at the top of the Championship table after their 2-0 win against Millwall on 17 March.
They are next set to face 13th-place Watford at Vicarage Road on Friday (29 March) after the international break.
