SCHENECTADY, N.Y. (NEWS10) — Cannabicity, a woman-founded CBD shop, is celebrating its grand opening on Saturday, March 30 and Sunday, March 31. The shop is located in Mohawk Harbor at 220 Harborside Drive, Suite 111 in Schenectady.
The grand opening weekend includes a yoga and CBD fusion experience on Saturday at 9:30 a.m. with Schenectady’s Inner Bliss yoga studio. The session is a 45-minute gentle flow class led by instructor Lua Arcos.
Participants will also get a complimentary package of CBD products to help with sleep, joint pain, and energy. Walk-ins are welcome for the $10 class and limited space is available. If interested, you can call (518) 777-CANA.
Throughout the weekend, Cannabicity will be offering visitors free membership to its Loyalty Rewards Program. Customers who spend $60 on qualifying products, will get a $30 package of morning-use CBD/CBG energy gummies.
Cannabicity is still working on getting its license so it can sell more cannabis products, not just CBD. The shop said it will convert into an adult-use cannabis dispensary as soon as it gets the license.
“Cannabicity is founded upon our mission to offer a non-judgmental, approachable, and responsible environment for both new and experienced consumers to purchase exceptional cannabis-derived goods,” said co-founder Barbara Vaughn. “We source the highest quality CBD products from premier brands and producers, and we are committed to providing a relaxing customer experience.”
In 2023, Cannabicity started funding a $5,000 annual scholarship for SUNY Schenectady students in the college’s cannabis accreditation programs. The shop also plans to donate a part of its profits to charitable causes and plans to host more CBD programming.
