Jeep Meridian Turns Turtle After Getting Hit By Hyundai Grand i10 At An Intersection [Video]

If you’re someone who loves to take the car out for a drive at night, you probably know by now the risks involved. While there are fewer vehicles on the road during this time, the chances of getting involved in a crash also increase. There have been several instances reported from different parts of the country where people have been careless while driving at night, leading to accidents. Here we have one such video where a Hyundai Grand i10 crashes into a Jeep Meridian at an intersection and topples the SUV.
The video has been shared by Nikhil Rana on his YouTube channel. The exact location where this accident happened is not mentioned; however, it looks like the crash happened somewhere in Kerala.
The accident was captured on a CCTV camera installed on the roadside. The camera is facing an intersection, and we can clearly see that there are no vehicles on the road. From the bottom right of the screen, we see a Jeep Meridian moving towards the intersection.
Just as the Meridian approaches the intersection, we see a Hyundai Grand i10 arriving at the same intersection. Both cars were being driven at a speed above normal, and they did not slow down before driving through the intersection.
The Jeep Meridian driver tried to move the car away from the intersection to avoid a crash by increasing speed, but that didn’t help at all. The Grand i10 T-boned the Jeep Meridian. The SUV lost control and immediately turned upside down. From the images that surfaced online after the crash, the Jeep Meridian is resting on its roof in the middle of the road.
The Grand i10, which crashed into the Meridian, is not seen anywhere in the images. From the video, it looks like the front of the hatchback was damaged after the crash. The SUV doesn’t look too damaged, and we are assuming that the occupants also escaped unhurt. The video doesn’t mention anything about the occupants at all.
This video is a great example that shows why driving at night is a risky thing, especially in India. People often get carried away by emotions when they see empty roads at night. They often drive fast at night to cover the maximum distance, completely forgetting about the fact that the chances of a stray cattle or dog jumping in front of their vehicle are pretty high.
When they spot such an obstacle for which they are not prepared, they apply hard braking, which makes them lose control of the vehicle, and they end up crashing their car into the median or the obstacle. In this case, the accident could have been easily avoided if either of them had been a bit more careful.
If either of them had slowed down at the intersection, the other vehicle would have passed through the intersection without crashing. Ideally, both drivers should have been careful and should have brought down their speed when they saw an intersection ahead. We are still not sure whether there was a traffic signal at the intersection or if either of the vehicles skidded through the traffic signal.
