ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) – Alyx Hilshey was featured on “Penn & Teller: Fool Us,” a magic competition show on ‘The CW,’ on Friday. The magician from Lewis travels around the country to perform magic and comedy at corporate events. NEWS10’s Cassie Hudson sat down with Hilshey to find out how she pulled off her biggest trick yet: turning her passion into a career.
“Well, I am a full time magician that actually is a real job. I haven’t always been a magician. I had a quote real job, I was an instructor in electrical engineering, but I’ve been doing magic since I was like seven years old and one day I was like you know what, I’m just going to be a magician. I’ve been doing that the last five years full time, it’s been amazing,” said Hilshey.
The competition-style magic TV show challenges entertainers to perform magic tricks in front of the iconic duo, Penn and Teller. Each featured magician is tasked with fooling the team.
