Jeep has introduced a new variant of the Compass in India, named the Night Eagle. This new variant comes with a price tag of Rs 25.39 lakh. This edition is a particular, limited-run model that comes with a unique all-black theme, distinguishing itself from the standard versions. The Night Eagle is built on the Longitude (O) variant and offers a series of extra features in addition to the all-black theme.
The Compass Night Eagle stands out with its striking blacked-out exterior, including the grille, roof rails, and 18-inch alloy wheels, complemented by exclusive Night Eagle badging. This design approach is similar to that of the Compass Black Shark, particularly in the alloy wheels and the blacked-out roof. The all black theme continues in the interior of the car as well. This blacked out treatment gives the SUV a mafia and sporty look.
Jeep has not compromised in terms of features in the Compass Night Eagle Edition. The SUV comes with standard offerings such as front and rear dashcams for enhanced safety, a rear entertainment unit to keep passengers entertained, premium carpet mats, underbody lighting, ambient lights to set the mood, and an air purifier to ensure the cabin air remains clean and fresh.
Additionally, it comes with a panoramic sunroof, connected car tech and wireless charger. The Night Eagle Edition is offered with three unique colour options: black, white, and red, offering buyers the choice to select a shade that best matches their style.
Under the hood, the Jeep Compass Night Eagle is powered by a 2.0-litre diesel engine which produces 170hp and 350Nm of torque. Buyers have the option between a 6-speed manual transmission and a 9-speed torque converter automatic. The Compass Night Eagle Edition is available only with the front wheel drive (FWD) option. On the other hand, the top end model of regular Compass offers 4×4 capabilities.
The Jeep Compass prioritizes safety with features such as a 5-star Euro NCAP crash test rating, six airbags (driver, passenger, side curtain, seat-mounted), ABS with EBD, electronic stability control, traction control, hill start assist, tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS), 360-degree camera and a reverse parking camera. Higher trims add driver-assistance (ADAS) features such as forward collision warning, lane departure warning, and blind spot monitoring.
The pricing for Jeep Compass starts at Rs. 20.69 lakhs and goes up to Rs. 32.27 lakhs. This pricing makes it one of the most expensive car in the Indian compact SUV segment. Talking about the Compass Night Eagle prices, the manual version is available at Rs. 25.04 lakhs and the AT version costs Rs. 27.04 lakhs. Please note that all the prices mentioned are ex-showroom.
The SUV competes against a range of cars, including the MG Hector, Tata Harrier and the Mahindra XUV700, as well as more premium offerings like the Hyundai Tucson, Volkswagen Tiguan, and Citroen C5 Aircross.
The Night Eagle edition, in particular, rivals with special editions from competitors, such as the Tata Harrier Dark edition, the MG Hector Blackstorm, and the Mahindra XUV700’s Napoli Black variants, which feature an all-black treatment on their top-end models.
