Maserati has already announced that by 2028 it will only sell EVs, but it’s already started releasing EV versions of its existing lineup, like the GranTurismo Folgore and Grecale Folgore. Now we have our next EV from Maserati, the 2025 GranCabrio Folgore.

The GranCabrio Folgore is an electric version of the gas-powered GranCabrio and also is basically a droptop version of the GranCabrio Folgore coupe. It’s powered by three electric motors, one at the front and two at the rear. The electric powertrain technically has over 1,200 horsepower, but its inverters limited it to 751 horsepower or 818 hp in MaxBoost mode.

Just like the coupe, the GranCabrio Folgore is based on an 800-volt architecture with a T-shaped battery pack that sits in the middle of the EV and behind the rear seats. It can be charged from 20-80 percent in only 18 minutes and a 278 mile range on Europe’s WLTP cycle.

You can lower or raise the top at speeds up to 31 mph. The top can be opened in only 14 seconds, while it takes 16 seconds to close it. You can also operate the top using gesture controls, swiping left or right of the touchscreen.

Inside there’s a 12.3-inch touchscreen with touch-controlled climate settings below it. In front of the driver there’s a 12.2-inch digital gauge cluster. A 16-speaker Sonus Faber sound system is standard, while a 19-speaker system is optional.
