The City of London is assuring residents in the Byron area that possible water discolouration is temporary and safe to drink.
A water shut off in the area reduced water pressure in some parts of Byron
Some areas of the Byron area may be experiencing a drop in water pressure and possible discolouration Tuesday.
The City of London is advising residents that there was a scheduled water shut off in the area of Colonel Talbot Road and Southdale Road, resulting in a temporary disruption to water service.
The city says they’re monitoring the situation and some affected residences are returning to normal water pressure, though water discolouration could be present. The city says the water is safe to consume.
The shut off is part of the Southdale Road and Colonel Talbot Road improvements project, which includes the construction of a roundabout, new bike paths and sidewalks to accommodate future growth in the area.
Anyone experiencing water pressure problems or discolouration after Tuesday is being asked to call Water Operations at 519-661-4739 or report the issue online.
