Two teenagers arrested after boys cornered and threatened in town centre

Two 15-year-old boys from Southampton have been arrested in Eastleigh.
Police say three teenagers reported being followed to a stairwell leading to a restaurant on Market Street.
They were surrounded by a group and threatened, leaving them “fearful of violence”.
The group eventually fled the scene at around 3.55pm.
But just ten minutes later CCTV operators alerted police to a robbery in progress on the same street.

A large group of young people dispersed when officers arrived.
A number of teenage boys were then detained to be searched.
They were later released with no further action.
The two 15-year-old boys from Southampton were arrested on suspicion of attempted robbery and false imprisonment.
They have since been released on conditional bail.
One of their bail conditions is not to enter Eastleigh town centre.
