MAX’S health problems intensify which worries Dylan and suspicions grow as Faith’s lie spirals out of control this week in the ED.
In this week’s double episode of the BBC medical drama, Donna and Max engage in flirtatious interactions after their intimate encounter.
Their chemistry intensifies, but their focus shifts when a woman named Ella arrives at the ED with her son Isaac, who is experiencing breathing difficulties and appears limp.
Max takes swift action, picking up Isaac and rushing him to Resus for urgent treatment.
However, the exertion takes a toll on Max, leaving him feeling lightheaded.
Following the intense situation, Max manages to return to his office but ultimately collapses due to the physical strain he endured earlier.
Dylan finds Max on the floor barely able to speak and treats him in secret.
Dylan later finds Max to give him his test results, which doesn’t bring good news and Max immediately goes back into denial mode.
He urges Max to consider a transplant, suggesting Jodie as a possible donor.
Recognising potential romantic feelings from Dylan towards Donna, Max experiences guilt and decides to address their situation.
However, before he can talk to her, he is abruptly taken away to meet with Dr. Burton for a prognosis.
His doctor informs him that without a transplant, Max’s chances of survival in the coming year are minimal.
Struggling to comprehend the gravity of his circumstances, Max later meets Donna. Amid the emotional turmoil, they share another kiss, highlighting the complexity of their evolving relationship amidst Max’s health concerns.
Meanwhile, Natalia becomes curious about Stevie’s extensive assistance to Faith and raises her concerns. Stevie provides a justification, but Natalia remains skeptical, sensing something amiss.
While at the ED, Stevie informs Faith about her conversation with Natalia and encourages Faith to be honest with her daughter about the situation.
Later, Natalia arrives at the hospital, determined to uncover the truth behind her mother’s circumstances and pressing for an explanation.
Convinced that Faith is hiding something, Stevie phones Faith’s oncologist – Dr Penrose, only to discover she is on maternity leave.
Stevie is floored to realise Faith has made the whole thing up and doesn’t actually have cancer.
Stevie maintains a vigilant watch over Faith. Her worry deepens as it becomes evident that Faith’s addiction is affecting her performance at work.
As patients’ well-being starts to suffer due to Faith’s struggles, Stevie recognises the necessity of informing Max about the situation.
Faith attempts to deflect Stevie’s concerns, asserting that Stevie is equally culpable, having been aware of the potential risks to patients all along.
They wait anxiously until Max finally arrives and they realise that someone else has already disclosed the matter to him – but who?
Casualty airs on Saturdays on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
