The fire took place at a property on St Helens Road in Bolton, with Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service (GMFRS) firefighters being called out at around 8.30pm today, September 4.

Officers from Bolton Central, Bolton North and Atherton Fire Stations attended the incident, containing the fire to the bedroom.

Watch Manager Phil Hinsley of Bolton Central said: “It was a bedroom fire on St Helens Road in Bolton, three fire engines, one each from Bolton Central, Bolton North and Atherton Fire Stations attended.

“The fire was in a first-floor bedroom. Four firefighters wearing breathing apparatus tackled it with hose reels.”

Speaking at around 9.30pm, he added: “The fire has now been extinguished and everyone is okay.” He said that crews managed to contain the fire to the first floor bedroom, so that is the only section of the house that has been damaged.
