The $25 million campaign to help the homeless in London, Ont., has added Jeff Macoun, the president and chief operating officer of Canada Life.
As the senior executive tasked with overseeing the day-to-day operations of one of London’s largest companies, he’s hoping to add his business acumen to the fight against homeless in the city.
London city hall has already received $25 million through an anonymous donor to combat the worst homelessness crisis the city has seen in living memory.
On Friday, Macoun told CBC Radio One’s Afternoon Drive he will help lead Health and Homelessness Fund for Change, a fundraising committee that looks to add another $10 million to the city’s plan to help ease the suffering of the estimated 2,000 unsheltered people living on London’s streets.
You can listen to his conversation with guest host Colin Butler below.
