Furey defends apology to NunatuKavut first, cites ‘timing and scheduling’

Premier Andrew Furey says he is committed to apologizing to the Innu Nation and Nunatsiavut over residential schools, and says the NunatuKavut apology was “ready and scheduled.” As the Nunatsivaut government calls for the resignation of Indigenous Affairs and Reconciliation Minister Lisa Dempster, Furey told reporters he has full confidence in his cabinet.
