A ceremony to inaugurate the largest-ever exhibition of women entrepreneurs, WEXNET 23, took place at Expo Center, Lahore recently, with the presence of Chief Executive Zubair Motiwala, alongside Mr S M Tanveer.
The colourful event, attended by government officials, diplomats, trade members, and women entrepreneurs, featured notable dignitaries including Deputy Head & Mission UAE Ms Ayesha Ali Naqvi, Commercial Counsellor Saudi Arabia Mr Mubasher Alshehri, and Commercial Counsellor Uzbekistan Mr Behram Yusuf.
The festivities kicked off with a lively cultural show, setting the tone for the three-day exhibition. WEXNET 23 offered a plethora of engaging activities, such as a diverse shopping experience, a culinary competition featuring the renowned chef Gulzar, and a dedicated play area for children, creating an inclusive environment for families.
Beyond the engaging activities, the event hosted essential sideline programs aimed at empowering women entrepreneurs for effective participation in the export market. The opening day witnessed an overwhelming response from the public, with families converging at the expo centre to revel in the ambiance and explore the showcase of top-quality products crafted by women entrepreneurs.
Notably, WEXNET 23 has collaborated with several esteemed partner organisations to enrich the event further. Partners include USAID-ERDA, Daachi (an organisation promoting traditional crafts), Sanatzar (a platform for artisans), Pakistan Software Export Board (PSEB), SMEDA (Small and Medium Enterprises Development Authority), and COTHM (College of Tourism & Hotel Management).
Beyond being a vibrant marketplace, WEXNET serves as a dynamic hub for knowledge exchange and networking. Workshops, panel discussions, and interactive sessions are integral components, facilitating the sharing of insights and fostering a collaborative environment.
