2023 Nissan Versa Review: Prices, Specs, and Photos

[ad_1]

The 2023 Nissan Versa is a subcompact sedan, one of the last of a dying breed of efficient, inexpensive models. The Kia Rio is its only direct rival, though the Hyundai Venue may be worth considering.

Budget price constraints kept in mind, the 2023 Nissan Versa is a great vehicle. It’s cheap, well-equipped, and frugal—not to mention more comfortable than many like-priced used cars. It’s a 5.7 out of 10 on the TCC scale. (Read more about how we rate cars.)

A refresh this year brings new exterior styling and more available tech to the 2023 Versa.

The Versa remains available only in a four-door sedan configuration. The revamped front end looks different, if not necessarily better or worse, compared to last year’s model. A big grille opening flanked by somewhat bizarre bright inserts culminates in headlights that arch toward the front wheels. The sedan’s side profile is comparatively ordinary, though it culminates in sharply styled taillights.

Inside, look for a new 8.0-inch touchscreen and more stitched accents on range-topping models. Any Versa puts subcompact models of yore to shame when it comes to style, though.

The 122-hp inline-4 churns power forward via either a 5-speed manual gearbox or, far more commonly, a CVT. Power comes on quickly and plateaus with similar speed. The Versa won’t win a race, but it keeps up well enough with traffic. Reasonable steering and comfortable suspension tuning are assets.

Cabin space is excellent given the small footprint, though rear-seat riders will find limited bench padding and shoulder room. A big trunk and class-up interior finishes suggest a higher price tag.

The Versa has earned decent crash-test ratings, and it comes standard with automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warnings, and automatic high-beam headlights. Adaptive cruise control, blind-spot monitors, and rear cross-traffic alerts are on its options list.

How much does the 2023 Nissan Versa cost?

The $16,825 Versa comes with power windows and locks, and a 7.0-inch touchscreen in base trim, with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto paired with a split-folding rear seat on the options list.

Where is the 2023 Nissan Versa made?

In Mexico.
