The Chrysler 300 is a premium midsize sedan that is about as rare as a unicorn in India. Positioned as an American response to German sedans like the Mercedes-Benz E-Class, BMW 5-Series, and Audi A6, the Chrysler 300 made its debut in 2005 and has continued its journey with the second-generation model. A few buyers have privately imported the Chrysler 300 sedan to India, including this performance-oriented Chrysler 300C equipped with a Hemi V8 engine, which is now available in the second-hand car market.
This well-maintained, white-coloured Chrysler 300C is currently offered by Limitless Luxuries, a Mumbai-based used car dealership. This 2007 Chrysler 300C belongs to the first-generation model and is said to be the only Chrysler 300 in India with the range-topping 5.7-liter Hemi V8 engine under its hood. According to the information available, the previous owner imported this Chrysler 300C from Japan, and it has accumulated around 44,000 kilometers on its odometer.

While a few other Chrysler 300 sedans can be spotted on Indian roads, all privately imported by their current owners, they are reportedly the diesel-powered variants of the sedan, equipped with a 3.0-liter V6 diesel engine. What sets this white-colored Chrysler 300C apart from the other 300s in India is its 5.7-liter V8 engine.
Naturally-aspirated V8
In full throttle, this naturally-aspirated 5.7-litre V8 engine from the Chrysler family delivers 340 bhp of power and 529 Nm of torque. These figures were more than enough to categorize the Chrysler 300C as a performance sedan. This engine features Chrysler’s Multi-Displacement System (MDS), similar to Volkswagen’s cylinder deactivation technology. This means that when not needed, four out of eight cylinders in this Hemi V8 engine shut down to save fuel.
Thanks to this cylinder deactivation technology, the Chrysler 300C achieved a maximum fuel efficiency of 10 kmpl, making it one of the most fuel-efficient V8-powered cars in America, despite its impressive performance capabilities. Power is transmitted through a 5-speed automatic gearbox. As a luxury sedan, this Chrysler 300C boasts premium features such as heated front and rear seats, 18-inch chrome alloy wheels, HID headlamps, a foldable MyGig infotainment system, leather upholstery, and a sunroof.
Chrysler never officially operated in India, although some individuals have privately imported its cars. These vehicles are renowned for their luxurious appeal and performance rather than snob value and advanced technologies like their German counterparts. It’s important to note that while purchasing a rare Chrysler 300C may seem tempting, the post-sales ownership experience can be challenging, as sourcing spare parts and servicing it from private garages can be a hassle.
