WATCH: “Saturday Night Live” spoofs Coach Prime after CU loss to Stanford

“Saturday Night Live” returned to the airwaves over the weekend for the first time since April, meaning there were plenty of current events to catch up on during its ever-popular Weekend Update segment.
That included “one of the most exciting stories in college football,” according to host Colin Jost. He was, perhaps unsurprisingly, talking about the Colorado Buffaloes and the team’s “remarkable turnaround” under Coach Deion Sanders.
Cast member Kenan Thompson impersonated Coach Prime as a guest on the Weekend Update, poking fun at Sanders’ eternal confidence and optimism poignantly after his team blew a 29-0 lead against Stanford University one day prior to the broadcast.
Donning a pair of Sanders’ signature Blenders sunglasses, Thompson touted CU not just as a winning football team, but also as “winning at life.” When Jost reminded him that CU has technically lost a few — the team’s record is 4-3 — Thompson clapped back in true Sanders fashion, with a quote similar to the one that has gone viral.
“Colin, look at me man,” Thompson said. “What about me makes you think that I care about what you think about me, huh?”
The segment also teased about Sanders move from a historically black college in Mississippi to a historically white college in Colorado and offered SNL a chance to air a clip from when Coach Prime performed a musical number as the show’s host back in 1995.
