6ix9ine’s arrest was confirmed by Dominican Republic-based criminal lawyer Felix Portes.
In a series of posts on Instagram from October 14 and 15, Portes said that Hernandez had been attempting to flee the country in a private jet but was put on a ‘migration alert’ meaning he could leave due to the arrest warrant that had been issued.
The actual assault was not captured on video but a clip showing a group of men about to enter a building allegedly shows the moments before the attack took place.
According to the Diario Libre report, La Mas Viral was recording a song at a studio with La Mafia when he was attacked along with another person by five men.
La Mafia told the website that La Mas Viral at left the studio at that point. When the men arrived, they demanded to know where she was.
He let them into the studio and when they couldn’t find her, they began to attack.
The other man, who was hit with the butt of a gun, required surgery in order to have his jaw realigned, reports Diario Libre.
La Mafia accused Hernandez of being ‘jealous’ over his relationship with La Mas Viral.
According to Portes, Hernandez was arrested in the town of Samana and will be transferred to La Vega to answer to the assault charges.

The GUMMA hitmaker was arrested in August on failure to appear charges related to traffic violations in Florida – four months prior to when he was beaten up inside of a LA Fitness gym in Florida.
The rapper was sent to hospital to treat severe injuries, including gashes, bruises and swelling on his jaw, ribs and back.
Shortly after the brutal attack, the group of men who claimed to have beaten him up boasted about the attack on social media.
In videos circulating online, they called him a ‘rat’ who wouldn’t be tolerated in their ‘hood.’
While kicking and punching him, one could be heard yelling to another: ‘Take a picture, take a picture – I am going to be famous now.’
It is not currently known what exactly prompted the Florida attack, but Hernandez has rarely been short of enemies.
The rapper was attacked at a Florida gym in March 2023 due to retaliation following his participation the Nine Trey gangsters trials – branding the street nickname: ‘snitch’
The rapper made headlines in 2018 after snitching on the Nine Trey gangsters in order to receive a lighter prison sentence.
He faced 47 years in prison, and could’ve gone down for life, after he was charged with several crimes, including racketeering, firearm possession, armed robbery and attempted murder.
Those charges included allegations that he was directly involved in a drive-by shooting. During that incident, an innocent bystander was wounded.
Instead, he testified against Aljermiah ‘Nuke’ Mack, 33, and Anthony ‘Harv’ Ellison, 31, who received 17 and 24-year prison sentences.
6ix9ine was sentenced to two years in prison for his involvement in 2019, and was released in April 2020, ahead of schedule due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
In 2018, 6ix9ine had a multiplatinum hit song, Fefe, with Nicki Minaj, which peaked at No. 3 on the pop charts, and Stoopid, featuring imprisoned rapper Bobby Shmurda.
