Nissan Hyper Punk concept delivers AI-driven sensory stimulation – The Torque Report

Nissan has released photos of the fourth vehicle from a series of concepts created for the Japan Mobility Show, the Nissan Hyper Punk concept.
Seeking to blur the lines between the virtual and physical worlds, the Nissan Hyper Punk concept is an all-electric crossover somewhat akin to a bionic Nissan Juke from a manga-themed future.
Its exterior design features sharp, angular creases and a triangular theme, displayed most notably on what appear to be illuminated wheels. The Nissan Hyper Punk concept’s silver paint shifts its tone depending on the viewing angle. It’s pretty safe to say the Nissan Hyper Punk concept is a pie-in-the-sky style dream car meant to allow Nissan’s designers free reign to express themselves, rather than anything intended for production, though perhaps one day your Juke will indeed feature light-up wheels.
Step inside, and you’ll find an appropriately wild interior rendered in red and white with origami-inspired elements echoing the exterior’s faceted appearance. In an attempt to fuse the art and digital worlds, the Nissan Hyper Punk features onboard cameras that can capture the scene around the vehicle and then use AI to convert it to “manga-style scenery or graphic patterns.” This imagery is intended to be projected on a triple-screen display arranged around the driver to create “a space where reality and the world of the metaverse are fused together.” The Nissan Hyper Punk concept also features AI and headrest biosensors that can detect the driver’s mood and adjust the cabin lights and music to enhance the driver’s creativity. It’s safe to assume no one will complain of sensory deprivation in the Nissan Hyper Punk concept.
The Nissan Hyper Punk concept will make its physical debut on October 25th at the Japan Mobility Show, while a digital version will become available on Fortnite under the name “Electrify the World” that same day.
