Indian skipper Rohit Sharma is known for his performance on the ground. He is even called the “hitman” for his performance. India is currently hosting the Cricket World Cup, and the cricketer recently made headlines after receiving challans for overspeeding on the Mumbai-Pune Expressway. According to reports, Rohit Sharma was traveling in his Lamborghini Urus Super SUV when he received these challans.
According to various online reports, Rohit Sharma flew from Ahmedabad to Mumbai via a Pawan Hans Helicopter. Rohit spent two days with his family in Mumbai and then decided to join the rest of the team in Pune. His journey from Mumbai to Pune is what has brought the cricketer into the news. Rohit Sharma loves speed, and he drove his Lamborghini Urus SUV very fast on the Mumbai-Pune Expressway. The car was said to be traveling at a speed of 200 km/h and above. At times, it even touched the 215 km/h mark. Most expressways have surveillance cameras installed to monitor the speed of vehicles.

These cameras captured Rohit’s overspeeding Lamborghini Urus not once, but thrice. Three challans have also been issued for overspeeding on the expressway. This reckless driving behavior on a public highway amidst the World Cup by Rohit Sharma has raised many concerns among cricket fans and traffic officials. A source from the Traffic Department told Zee News, “The Indian captain, right in the middle of the World Cup, driving down on a highway, is not advisable at all. He should be traveling in the team bus with a police car escorting it.” The concern is related to the safety of the cricketer.
The Mumbai-Pune Expressway has a prescribed speed limit of 100 km/h, and Rohit Sharma was driving the car at almost double the recommended speed. This is actually a very risky call, especially when considering the fact that this is a public highway. There are other road users, and the chances of colliding with other vehicles are very high. Fortunately, nothing like that happened in this case. The exact amount of the challan that Rohit Sharma received for overspeeding is not known at the moment.
Rohit Sharma is often seen driving his Lamborghini Urus in Mumbai. Recently, he was spotted with his wife in the Urus when the couple went out for shopping. The Urus is one of the fastest-selling Lamborghinis in the world and in India. Many celebrities and businessmen have bought this super SUV. Rohit Sharma bought the SUV in “Blu Eleos” paint – a rich shade of blue. Blue is his favorite color, and it also matches the shade of the Indian cricket team jersey. The interior of Rohit’s Urus has also been customized. It features a dual-tone combination of Ross Alala (cherry red) and Nero (black). The SUV is powered by a 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V8 petrol engine, generating an impressive 650 PS and a peak torque of 850 Nm. This engine is mated to an 8-speed ZF automatic transmission. Lamborghini Urus prices commence at Rs 4.2 crore in India, and depending on customization choices, the price increases even more.
