Police at train station after trespassers on railway tracks spotted

GMP are at Salford Crescent station due to trespassers while all lines are blocked here and delays are expected until the matter is resolved.
A spokesman for Northern said: “Due to trespassers on the railway at Salford Crescent all lines are blocked.
“Network rail and police are on site.”
No trains from Bolton Station will stop at Salford Crescent currently and passengers are advised to take alternative routes.
Recently, Network Rail announced there may be disruptions over the course of the coming weeks as they tackle leaves and trees falling onto tracks.
Leaf-busting trains will be out to clear the tracks to get passengers moving as soon as possible.
But delays will be inevitable as the weather changes and Storm Babet is on its way.
Network Rail said: “With strong winds forecast across Britain, we and train operators are preparing for the impact of severe weather.
“There’s the potential for damage to overhead lines and tracks caused by debris or fallen trees, which could impact train services.
“If damage occurs, the high wind levels mean it may not be safe for engineers to work at height or with certain machinery until the wind levels have dropped.
“This could mean we won’t complete repairs in time for a normal Monday morning service.”
