2024 Kia EV6 debuts new Light Long Range for $47,275

The 2024 Kia EV6 electric crossover enters its third model year with a new entry-level Light model that can be paired with the larger battery pack on the EV6, Kia announced Thursday. The new offering effectively drops the price by nearly $3,000 with a range of 310 miles.

The Kia EV6 Light with rear-wheel drive still uses a 58.0-kwh battery pack that has a range of 232 miles and a starting price of $43,925, including a $1,325 destination fee. But for the first time, the entry-level Light grade can be paired with the larger 77.4-kwh battery pack in the Light Long Range.

The new grade should bring it into better price parity with the related Hyundai Ioniq 5.

The new grade comes with a single motor and rear-wheel-drive for $47,275 and a range of 310 miles. That’s $2,750 less than the cheapest 2023 Kia EV6 with the long range battery, which was the Wind trim. The Wind RWD carries over at a price of $50,025. System output for all rear-wheel-drive EV6 models is 225 hp.

The Light can also be had with two motors and all-wheel drive for an output of 320 hp. On 19-inch wheels, it has a range of 282 miles and a starting price of  $51,175.

The $3,900 price increase for the 320-hp dual-motor configuration applies to the Wind model as well, so the Wind AWD costs $53,925. The GT-Line RWD costs $54,225, and GT-Line AWD costs $58,925.

The range-topping 2024 Kia EV6 GT and its 576-hp dual-motor setup costs $62,925.

The 2024 Kia EV6 goes on sale this fall. It is not eligible for the federal EV tax credit.
