When it comes to full-sized ladder-frame SUVs in India, there is only one name that comes to mind, and that is the mighty Toyota Fortuner. Since its launch in 2009, the SUV has maintained its position as the market leader. Even today in 2023, the model has not faced any stiff competition from the market, and it seems like it will remain the case for a while. Currently, the Fortuner is in its second generation and is due for a generation change. Recently, a few renderings of what could be the next generation of this SUV have been shared online.

The video, shared by Q Cars on their YouTube channel, shows the exterior and interior design of what could be the upcoming 2024 Toyota Fortuner. The video mentions that the Fortuner could soon receive an all-new generation change, and this time around, the company could make it a lot more extreme than the outgoing model. The video shares the front, rear, and interior renderings and pictures of the upcoming Toyota Fortuner.

Front

Starting at the front of this extreme edition of the upcoming Toyota Fortuner render, we can note that it gets a completely redesigned front end, which is a lot busier looking than the models that we have seen so far. The all-LED headlights are much sleeker and have a thin LED DRL in between. The grille has been made a lot smaller and has been blacked out. Apart from these changes, the front bumper has also been made a lot boxier and more aggressive with a massive silver skid plate in between.

On the side profile, it can be noted that this rendered Fortuner has been given only two doors. Now, this is very unlikely to be offered in India and other markets for the Toyota Fortuner; however, it does look very sporty in this configuration. Apart from this, it can be observed that the rendered version has been given a set of massive all-terrain tires with five-spoke alloy wheels. The side steps have also been placed high up.

Rear

Coming to the rear rendering of this Toyota Fortuner, it can be seen that the rear is a completely different vehicle, but in general, it seems like it is closer to the real vehicle. The LED taillights have been connected in this rendered iteration, and the lower bumper has also been made a lot more aggressive with a massive skid plate. The overall rear design has been kept extremely aggressive and features a ton of cuts and creases.

Interior

Moving on to the interior image of the upcoming Fortuner, most likely, this is not exactly how the Fortuner interior will look, as it is the interior of the newly showcased Land Cruiser model. However, it has been speculated that the company could be using this interior as inspiration for the upcoming Toyota Fortuner generation. Most likely, the interior will feature new modern amenities, as the current interior of the Fortuner looks extremely dated and needs a full redesign.

Powertrain

In terms of the powertrain, it is being speculated that the upcoming Toyota Fortuner could come equipped with a 2.8-liter four-cylinder turbo-diesel with 48V mild-hybrid tech. Reports have claimed that it could make around 201 bhp of power and 500 Nm of torque. Additionally, some reports from Japan have stated that there is an all-new 2.4-liter four-cylinder turbo-diesel with a fully integrated hybrid system.

Lastly, there are some reports that claim that the company has engineered another option, which could be a brand-new 2.4-liter turbo-petrol four-cylinder hybrid powertrain. Power figures for this new engine have been reported to be around 366 bhp and 550 Nm. Most likely, even if this engine is launched in international markets, it will not be offered in India.
