Ferrari SF90 recalled again; This time over an oil leak – The Supercar Blog

[ad_1]

Ferrari has announced a recall of the SF90 over a possible oil leak. According to the automaker, 614 units of the plug-in hybrid model have been affected. These include both the SF90 Stradale and SF90 Spider from model year 2022 through 2024.

The latest issue is related to a faulty oil delivery pipe that supplies the turbocharger. Ferrari has notified the owners and has requested them to get the faulty pipe replaced at the dealership. Ferrari SF90 customers have been advised to refrain from driving their hypercars until then.

Ferrari says that the issue first came to light during a pre-production review of a new vehicle in July 2023. The test car began leaking oil because of an unexpected “notch” on the pipe, which should not have been there. This triggered the oil pressure warning light, and a “limited engine performance” message was displayed on the dash.

This is not the first official recall of the Ferrari SF90. In March 2023, the automaker had announced a recall of the plug-in hybrid model over an airbag issue.
