Winter has slowly started arriving in North India. In the mountains, snowfall has started, and many people have begun driving to the mountains to experience it. However, not everyone who visits the mountains during this time is prepared for the extreme conditions. Once it starts snowing, the terrain completely changes, and one has to take extreme caution while driving on it. It is always recommended to take 4×4 vehicles with proper recovery equipment in such situations; however, people still go anyway. A few days ago, we saw a short video where a Toyota Hilux was pulling an oil tanker in the snow. Here is the complete video showing what exactly happened.

The video has been shared by DCV Expeditions on their YouTube channel. The vlogger often posts videos of camping and driving to the mountains in his 4×4. In this video, the vlogger was driving through Shinkula Pass, which is almost 17,000 feet above sea level. As the vlogger was driving down the pass, he came across a group in a Mahindra Bolero 2WD struggling to climb up. The vlogger was driving a Toyota Hilux truck with off-road spec tires and other recovery equipment for backup.

He stopped to help the Bolero people and pulled the MPV to some extent. After dropping them, the vlogger returned and found that an oil tanker was stuck at a hairpin curve. The truck driver had been stranded at this spot for the last four days. He was trying hard to climb up the snowy stretch, but the rear wheels were losing traction. The truck driver was actually scared because he was not prepared for this situation. It is not clear if he was driving through the snow for the first time as well. The Hilux was once again tied to the front of the truck using the recovery strap.

He then slowly started the truck. The truck with the container is heavy and weighs around 7-8 tons. It looks like the tanker was not loaded, as it would have made things even more challenging. The Hilux tried to pull the truck but initially failed. It was later found that the truck driver was not accelerating. When both of them coordinated, the Hilux started pulling the truck slowly.

The rough terrain tires on the Hilux turned out to be helpful, and even on the slippery surface, it found traction and moved forward. After pulling it forward for some distance, the vlogger stopped and asked the driver to go ahead, but he was not confident and requested the vlogger to pull the truck to the top. He did the same, and after reaching the top, the truck driver thanked the vlogger for helping, and he drove forward carefully. Inexperienced drivers often find themselves in such situations in the snow.

Snow is one of the trickiest surfaces to drive on. Aggressive acceleration and braking can make you lose control of the vehicle. It is very easy to crash while driving on snow. It is because of such risks that many roads in the mountains are closed for vehicles during snowfall. The Toyota Hilux showcased its might in this video, and the vlogger was also happy after helping the truck driver.
