US billionaire launches bid to add SPFL side to portfolio including EPL & Ligue 1 clubs

AMERICAN billionaire and Premier League Bournemouth owner Bill Foley has opened talks with Hibernian with a view to potential stunning investment.
SunSport understands negotiations with Easter Road chief executive Ben Kensell are at an early stage but have so far been positive.
Foley, 78, has a vision of multi-club ownership and also has a stake in French Ligue 1 outfit Lorient while he also has his eye on a potential shareholding in a Belgian club.
It’s believed he made an approach to the Hibees – owned by fellow Americans the Gordon family – a fortnight ago and talks kicked off last week.
Ownership of Hibs is NOT on the table but Foley instead is believed to be keen to have a shareholding in the Leith outfit who he feels sure has great potential.
Any prospective agreement will be of keen interest to the SFA who would also seek clarity from the Hibs board on the specific proposals regards the integrity of any arrangement given Foley’s controlling interest in Bournemouth who he purchased last December.

Across the pond Foley is lead investor, chairman and CEO of Black Knight Sports & Entertainment which owns the Vegas Golden Knights, a professional ice hockey team.
Former Hibs chairman Ron Gordon died last February but his son Ian remains a key player in the club’s operation.
The interest comes as the Scottish FA looks at relaxing the rule that bans an organisation or individual having a controlling stake in two clubs at the same time.
