John Mellencamp is going to sing a few “little ditties” in 2024.
The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee just announced 27 new concerts as part of his ongoing ‘Live And In Person Tour’ that began back in February 2023.
Along the way, the “Jack and Diane” singer will drop into Rochester, NY’s West Herr Auditorium Theatre on Friday, March 8, Newark, NJ’s New Jersey Performing Arts Center on Sunday, March 10 and Schenectady, NY’s Proctors Theatre on Thursday, March 14.
As of now, Mellencamp has lined up just one show in each city he’s set to perform in; last year, he played four back-to-back-to-back-to-back gigs at New York City’s Beacon Theatre in June.
This time around, he’ll likely be playing all the hits you know and love — “Jack and Diane,” “Pink Houses,” “Hurts So Good,” “Small Town,” “R.O.C.K. In The U.S.A.” to name a few — as well as tracks from his recently released album “Orpheus Descending.”

John Mellencamp new music
“Orpheus Descending” is Mellencamp’s 25th studio album.
The soulful 11-track record showcases the gruff, gravelly voice that the Farm Aid founder has grown into over the years.
In fact, he sounds more like Tom Waits than the John Mellencamp you know and love.
However, that’s not a complaint on our end; we fell in love with the bluesy “Amen,” “One More Trick’s” twang and the plaintive “Perfect World.”
For our money though, the standout songs are the fiery opening track “Hey God” and the jaunty, message-heavy “The Eyes Of Portland” which evoke a Springsteen-like spirit.
