Mahindra XUV700: New top-end trim spied on video

[ad_1]

Mahindra launched its flagship SUV, the XUV700, in the market a few years ago. It is currently the most feature-loaded and technologically advanced SUV from an Indian SUV maker. It quickly became popular among buyers for its premium looks, features, and competitive pricing. The XUV700 still has a long waiting period. The XUV700 competes with cars like the Tata Safari in the segment. Safari recently received an update, and the XUV700 slowly started to feel dated as it missed out on some features. Mahindra is currently working on a new top-end trim for the XUV700, and a spy video of the same has also surfaced online.

The video has been shared by Boby G on his YouTube channel. In this video, we see a Mahindra XUV700 with heavy camouflage around the car. The SUV looks the same as the current version; however, as per the video and several other reports available online, Mahindra is working on a new top-end variant for the SUV. This is being done to incorporate more features into the SUV. The spy video mostly shows the rear of the SUV.

The rear of the SUV looks identical to the one that is currently available in the market. However, this is just a test mule, and in the future, we may see more changes. The XUV700 will get two more new trims, namely AX9 and AX9 L, positioned above the existing AX7 variant. The new top-end variant of the XUV700 is expected to get features like ventilated seats for the front seats. There is a possibility that this feature may be offered for the rear seats too (just like the Safari). The XUV700 is also expected to get a powered tailgate, auto-dimming IRVM, and many more connected car features and applications.

In terms of exterior design, the XUV700 is expected to remain the same. The SUV might get a new connected LED light bar on the tailgate that connects the tail lamps. Other than this, everything else is expected to remain the same. If the XUV700 offers seat ventilation for rear seat passengers, they’ll also be offering captain seats. It needs to be seen whether the manufacturer will be adding any more features to the existing ADAS. Mahindra might also offer new color options with the updated version.

One of the main reasons why the Mahindra XUV700 became popular among buyers was because of the ADAS. There are many videos available online where people are seen misusing this feature. It needs to be seen whether this system would also receive any updates. The XUV700 is currently powered by a petrol and diesel engine option. The same would continue in the updated version too. The petrol version of XUV700 uses a 2.0-liter turbocharged mStallion series engine. This engine produces 200 Ps and 380 Nm of peak torque. The diesel version of the XUV700 is available in two states of tune. In the lower variants, the 2.2-liter mHawk turbo diesel engine generates 155 Ps and 360 Nm of peak torque. The same engine generates 185 Ps and 420 Nm of peak torque. With all these updates, the price of the new variants is most likely to go up.
