Famed NYC French restaurant La Grenouille reopens after gas leak

They’re breaking out the  Dom Perignon at 3 E. 52nd Street. La Grenouille, the romantic, last surviving outpost of the city’s old-school French-cuisine era, reopened on Friday following a four-and-a-half months shutdown due to a gas leak.

The Post reported back on Sept. 27 that the famous frog was shuttered in June by Con Ed when new gas meters detected a leak. Con Ed, the FDNY,  the Department of Buildings and restaurateur Philippe Masson subsequently pointed fingers at each other to explain the long delay in reopening.
