Bengals WR Ja’Marr Chase hints he could miss time

The only thing that seems could stop the Bengals, who are on a four-game win streak following a 24-18 win over the Bills in Week 9, is injuries. So what WR Ja’Marr Chase told reporters Monday is certainly concerning.
Chase informed the media that he is dealing with a back injury, which he suffered on “Sunday Night Football,” that is “pretty sore just moving around.” His timeline to return to the field is unknown.
“I’m just going to support my teammates, man. Let those guys do what they got to do. Only thing I can do is get healthy for the team,” Chase said. “Everybody is counting on me to be healthy.”
Losing Chase for any amount of time would be a huge blow to Cincinnati’s offense as he leads the team in receptions (64), yards (697) and touchdowns (four). Replicating that type of production would be no easy task to do.
If Chase were to miss any time, WR Tee Higgins would need to step up as the No. 1 wide receiver and it’s good timing as he is coming off of his first 100+ receiving yard game in Week 9.
Chase has all the confidence that Higgins would be able to do just that following his big game.
“We’ve all been waiting for Tee to have a day like that,” Chase added. “That’s all we’ve been expecting him to do.”
Of course, there is still a chance Chase can still play in the Bengals Week 10 matchup against the Texans. Head coach Zac Taylor listed the All-Pro wide receiver as “day-to-day” but didn’t sugarcoat the injury.
Only time will tell, but fans will surely have their eyes peeled on Cincinnati’s practice injury report throughout the week in hopes of having the team’s best playmaker come Sunday.
