ANAHEIM, California— Two-way star and coveted free agent Shohei Ohtani is donating about 60,000 baseball gloves to Japanese elementary faculties.
Ohtani, a free agent who has spent the previous six seasons with the Los Angeles Angels within the Main League Baseball (MLB), introduced Wednesday on Instagram that he’s donating the youth gloves to varsities all through Japan.
“I’m pleased to announce that I shall be donating roughly 60,000 youth gloves to each elementary college in Japan,” Ohtani stated. “That comes out to round 20,000 elementary faculties. I’m hoping the youngsters can spend their days fortunately with loads of vitality by baseball.”

The gloves Ohtani is donating are from New Stability, considered one of his company companions.
The 29-year-old Ohtani is coming off a season by which he batted .304 with 44 homers and in addition went 10-5 on the mound with a 3.14 ERA. He had Tommy John surgical procedure in September for the second time in six years.
