In the summer of 2018, the legendary footballer Paolo Maldini made a comeback to Milan. He was elevated to technical director a year later.

Working with the sports director Ricky Massara, he oversaw the transfer activity for the Italian club in the last few years.

However, Milan said at the beginning of June that Massara and Maldini will leave the team.

Maldini has since been linked to positions with the Italian national team and Paris Saint-Germain.

The 55-year-old is still available for purchase, though. Maldini is now very keen to relocate to Saudi Arabia.

The transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano claims that Maldini is being pursued by Al-Ittihad to become their director.

The Italian is the first choice of the Saudi club. Maldini is likely to make a decision on Al-Ittihad in the near future.

The team recently parted ways with head coach Nuno Espirito Santo, who was said to be feuding with Karim Benzema.
