Man pepper-sprayed by gardaí after threatening filling station staff with ‘large-bladed knife’

It’s understood gardaí had to use pepper spray to subdue the man before climbing over a counter to arrest him.

Gardaí arrest man during filling station robbery

A man in his 30s is in custody after being arrested by gardaí during an attempted armed robbery at a Dublin filling station.

The alarm was raised after a man armed with a “large-bladed” knife entered a Circle K on the Kennelsfort Road in west Dublin, and threatened staff on Saturday evening, March 2, 2024 at approximately 5.30pm.
