Gardaí investigating incident of criminal damage and fire after car hits building in Carlow

Gardaí are investigating an incident of criminal damage and fire that occurred at a premises in Carlow when a car hit the front of a building overnight.

The incident on Tullow Street occurred at around 2.30pm when a car made impact with the building.

Fire services attended the scene to control a fire which had broken out and while significant damage was caused to the property, no injuries were reported.

“Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses or anyone with information to contact them at Carlow Garda Station 059 913 66220,” a garda spokesperson said.

“Investigations ongoing.”

The scene was sealed off this morning pending a forensic examination by members of the garda technical bureau, and a burned out car could be seen reversed into the front of the salon.

There was obvious smoke damage to the top floors of the building also.
