An 83-year-old punter has lost his legal bid to force Paddy Power to pay him almost €14,000 extra on a winning four-horse accumulator.

Anthony Whelan’s four horses romped past the post at starting prices of 15/2, 12/1, 11/1 and 7/1 which, he claimed, would have given him winnings of €21,554.
