UK Government rules out plugging Casement Park funding gap as redevelopment estimates soar over £300m

The redevelopment of Casement Park looks to be in some doubt with UK Government officials understood to be unwilling to plug the funding cap for a stadium that is estimated to cost £308million (€360million).

Casement Park, the former home of Antrim GAA which has had its gates closed since 2013, is earmarked to host games at Euro 2028 but there has been some mystery about the spiralling redevelopment costs.
