An Alberta emergency alert for parts of the province has ended. 

Alert issued Friday evening ended around 8 p.m.

An Alberta emergency alert for parts of the province has ended. 

However, several other Environment Canada weather watches and warnings remained in place for parts of the province Friday evening. 

The alert, issued around 5 p.m. Friday, said Environment Canada meteorologists were tracking a very dangerous thunderstorm capable of producing very strong wind gusts, up to baseball size hail and heavy rain. 

The alert had affected Foothills County near Longview and Eden Valley, Foothills County near Cayley, the Municipal District of Willow Creek near Nanton and Parkland, and the Municipal District of Ranchland.
