Alex Iwobi reacts to Fulham FC loss to Liverpool in seven-goal thriller

Nigerian midfielder, Alex Iwobi has reacted to the seven-goal thriller involving his team Fulham FC and Liverpool on Sunday in the English Premier League.

Liverpool FC scrapped past Fulham FC 4-3 in a game Iwobi believes the Cottagers deserved to take something from but were unlucky to leave with nothing.

In that match at Anfield on Sunday, December 3, visiting Fulham FC led 2-3 until the 87th minute when Endo equalized for the Red’s before Englishman Trent Alexander-Arnold struck the winning goal a minute later to leave Iwobi and his teammates heartbroken after what was a great performance.

After the match, former Everton midfielder, Alex Iwobi who was in action for seventy-five minutes described the goals as ‘outrageous’, stressing the Cottagers need more than just good performances to move up the standings.

“Of course, it’s good to have good performances,” said Alex Iwobi as per The Athletic.

“But we need to turn them into results. That’s what pushes you up the table. It’s all good saying you performed well, but we need results. It’s fine margins.”

“The goals were outrageous,” said Iwobi. “We showed character and fighting spirit. It’s just unfortunate we didn’t take something.”

After 14 weeks, Fulham occupy 14th spot in the English Premier League, having won only four games and suffered seven defeats.

Iwobi and his Fulham FC teammates will return to action vs Nottingham Forest on Wednesday, December 6, 2023 at Craven Cottage.

The encounter will pitch two Super Eagles stars, Iwobi and Aina against each other in search of points for their respective clubs.
