Allegedly drunk Thar driver drives into a paddy field in Goa & crashes into tree [Video]

Mahindra Thar is one of those SUVs that have a long-standing fan following, especially the current generation. The new-generation Thar was launched in 2020 and quickly gained popularity among buyers for its looks and price. Mahindra is also working on a more practical 5-door version of the Thar, which is likely to be launched in the market next year. We have seen several videos of the Thar being driven off-road. However, there are times when people have used this SUV to perform stunts in public places. Here, we have one such incident from Goa, where an allegedly drunk person drove the Thar into a field and also crashed it.
The video has been shared by Prateek Singh on his YouTube channel. In this video, we see a Mahindra Thar being driven in a paddy field. Locals in the region can be heard shouting in the video. The car seen here is the current generation Mahindra Thar with a convertible soft top. This is actually a rented car, which is readily available in Goa. The driver of the Mahindra Thar can also be seen sleeping under a tree. The report suggests that the person was drunk, and when people approached him, he woke up and returned to the car and drove it away from the field.

The field had crops probably ready for cultivation. The person driving the car definitely destroyed a section of the field. The person not only destroyed the field but also damaged the car. The video shows the front of the SUV with a damaged bonnet, fender, and wheel arch cladding. It appears that the driver crashed the SUV into a tree or some other object. The person driving the Thar looks fine, which means he did not get injured in any way. The video also shows the image of an empty alcohol bottle, but we cannot confirm if it was found in the same vehicle or if the person was actually drinking.
Tourists coming to Goa often get into such troubles. In the past, we have seen several reports where people have driven their SUVs onto beaches and later got stuck. Some of them even drove into the sea and got stuck with the rising tide. Driving on beaches anywhere in India is actually illegal. Kannur’s Muzhappilangad is the only drive-in beach in India. People have also been spotted doing stunts by standing on the tops of moving cars. In most cases, the police have tracked the culprits and issued fines. We hope something like that happens in this case as well, as the registration number of the SUV is clearly visible.
Drunk driving is completely illegal, and we do not promote it in any manner. If the person was drunk, he was actually posing a threat to himself as well as other road users. He could have easily crashed the car into some other innocent road user and injured them. He also brought destruction to the field in which he was found driving the car.
