AMD Lowers Price of Radeon RX 7900 XTX RDNA 3 GPU
[ad_1]
According to sources, AMD has lowered the price of its current flagship graphics card, the Radeon RX 7900 XTX, to keep up with the market.
AMD continues to offer PC builders more choices for various budgets, as sources discovered that the tech giant lowered the price of its current flagship graphics card, the Radeon RX 7900 XTX, to $899. The price cut of the AMD card was discovered on Newegg, but some Radeon RX 7900 XTX quantities remained in back order at the time of writing.
Initially released in late 2022 as AMD’s 4K flagship graphics card running on RDNA 3 technology, the Radeon RX 7900 XTX is the undisputed leader among AMD graphics cards on the market. Capable of 4K video rendering and sporting up to 24GB of GDDR6 video memory, the RX 7900 XTX also has boosted clock speeds that can reach up to 2500 MHz. Because some models of the Radeon RX 7900 XTX require three 8-pin power connectors, AMD recommended that users must have a power supply of 800W or higher. While the Radeon RX 7000 series still trailed Nvidia in both sales and raytracing performance, the RDNA 3 cards can use FSR 3 upscaling technology and frame generation as well.
With Nvidia announcing price cuts for its outgoing stock of RTX 40 series GPUs, AMD sought to follow suit across multiple price points. According to Wccftech, the AMD Radeon RX 7900 XTS went for as low as $889 on April 2. At the time of writing, the price had hovered back up to $899 after using a promo code for two models of the RX 7900 XTX on Newegg. Both the XFX Speedster Merc310 and MSI Gaming models of Radeon RX 7900 XTX cards were available at that price. Compared to the Radeon RX 7900 XTX’s initial MSRP of $999, the discounts through Newegg amount to $100 in savings for consumers to consider when looking at GPU deals.
AMD Lowers Radeon RX 7900 XTX Price
- Priced as low as $899 on Newegg with promo codes.
- Discounted models come from AMD partners, including MSI and XFX.
- Some quantities are reportedly on back order, so consumers will have to act fast.
The discount on the Radeon RX 7900 XTX came months after AMD slashed prices of the RX 7900 XT, with its current price sitting at $699. However, the move came after AMD’s chief competitor, Nvidia, discounted some of its RTX 40 series cards. With the RTX 40 Super Series GPUs now on the market, Nvidia chose to clear out its remaining inventory and offered discounts for PC builders to take advantage of.
Between discounts on the Radeon RX 7900 XTX and the launch of the Radeon RX 7900 GRE in global markets, AMD is not done producing RDNA 3 graphics cards. Only time will tell how the market will respond to the price cuts.
