AUSTIN (KXAN) — Austin Police Department officers are responding to a shooting involving at least one officer in southwest Austin on Wednesday.
APD said it happened in the 6600 block of West William Cannon Drive, which is near Vega Avenue.
Officials have not confirmed how many officers were involved, if anyone was hurt or what led to the shooting. A police spokesperson is headed to the scene.
There will be street closures nearby, APD said. Video from KXAN Photojournalist Frank Martinez, who is at the scene, shows William Cannon Drive blocked by vehicles and crime scene tape between Vega Avenue and Southwest Parkway. People should avoid the area.
