Elk Grove Village police are investigating the armed robbery Wednesday morning of a gas station on the west side of town.
Police said officers were called at about 7:13 a.m. to the Casey’s at 1600 Nerge Road for a report of a robbery. They learned that a man entered the business armed with a handgun and took an undisclosed amount of cash and merchandise before fleeing in a vehicle, possibly a black sedan.
No injuries were reported, police said.
The robber was described as a white man, approximately 35 to 45 years old and was last seen wearing a gray sweatshirt.
