Truck hits utility pole in Arvada knocking out power and traffic lights

A truck driver in Arvada hit a power pole, causing a power outage for several hundred energy customers in the area.
The crash happened near West 66th Avenue and Estes Street, the Arvada Police Department said in a 2:48 p.m. tweet Wednesday. The crash caused traffic light outages at West 72nd Avenue and Carr Street and 72nd and Wadsworth Boulevard. Alternate traffic routes were advised.
About 6 p.m. Wednesday there still five power outages in the area impacting 484 customers, according to the Xcel Energy electric outage map.
Xcel crews are working on the outage, full restoration should happen by about 10:15 p.m., Arvada police said in a 5:44 p.m. tweet.
