Audi unveils special R8 Final Edition for Japanese customers – The Supercar Blog
[ad_1]
Audi Japan is offering its customers a chance to own a few of the last R8 supercars ever produced. Only 8 examples of the Audi R8 Japan Final Edition will be sold at a price of 35,080,000 yen, which is about $247,000.
So, what do you get for a quarter of a million dollars, you might ask. Well, the R8 Japan Final Edition comes equipped with matte bronze 20-inch wheels with red brake calipers that grab onto ceramic brake discs. It also gets several carbon fibre add-ons, including a rear wing, diffuser, side skirts and mirror caps.
The interior of the R8 Japan Final Edition has a dual-tone colour scheme. It is wrapped in Black and Alabaster White upholstery with Nappa leather seats and Alcantara. Each car will come with a special plaque with the VIN number.
Making an appearance for the final time is the naturally aspirated 5.2-liter V10 engine. It develops 602 hp and 413 lb-ft of torque and is paired with a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.
The Audi R8 GT was supposed to be the last hurrah of the brand’s iconic mid-engined supercar. However, ABT Sportline then unveiled the XGT – a road-legal version of the R8 LMS GT2 race car, and now we have the JDM R8 Final Edition.
