Austin leaders talk preparedness for severe weather season

AUSTIN (KXAN) — City of Austin and Travis County leaders will gather Monday afternoon to discuss preparedness for severe weather and flooding.
Representatives from the city and county will hold a press conference at 1 p.m. to talk about preparedness as the severe weather season in Central Texas is underway. KXAN will livestream the conference at the top of this story and on Facebook.
According to the First Warning Weather team, severe weather season in Central Texas runs from March 1 through early June. While severe weather can happen year-round, the spring months typically bring our highest concentration of wind, hail, tornadoes and flash flooding.
Representatives from the following departments will speak on Monday afternoon:
