Australian singer completes 3 lakh kms in her XUV500: Calls it most reliable, economical [Video]

Mahindra is currently one of the leading car manufacturers in India. Mahindra not only sells its SUVs in India but also in markets like South Africa and Australia. Just like in India, many of their models are popular among customers as they offer great value for money. Mahindra recently launched the Scorpio N in international markets, and we have seen several review videos related to it online. Now, we have a video from Australian singer Cathy Drummond, who recently completed 300,000 km in her Mahindra XUV 500 SUV. Here’s what she has to say about the car after completing 3 lakh km.
The video was shared by Cathy on her Facebook profile only. In the video, we see Cathy in her XUV500, driving down a straight road. The singer must have noticed the car’s odometer and saw that her car was inching towards the magical 3 lakh km mark. She started recording the video almost immediately. The singer even posted a caption with the video that said, “My trusty Mahindra XUV500 has just ticked over 300,000 kms. I have to say this has been the most reliable and economical vehicle I’ve ever owned. A big THANK YOU to Russell Hughes and the team at Hughes Car Sales, Toowoomba, for always looking after me.” The owner looked extremely happy in the video, and it looks like her next vehicle is going to be a Mahindra product only.
The Mahindra XUV500 was an extremely popular SUV in India too. It was one of those products after the Scorpio that made people notice the Mahindra brand. When Mahindra launched the XUV500 in 2011, it was so popular that Mahindra had to actually conduct lucky draws to deliver the car to customers. Just like modern-day Mahindra vehicles, the XUV500 also had long waiting periods. The main reason for its popularity was its rugged looks, spacious cabin, and features at an affordable price tag.
The video posted by Cathy does not show the exterior of the car. Due to this, we cannot guess which version of the XUV500 the singer actually owns. The earlier variants of the Mahindra XUV500 even came with an AWD feature in the top-end variant. The car received two facelifts during its lifecycle, one in 2015 and the other in 2018. The SUV was available with a 2.0-liter petrol engine and a 2.2-liter diesel engine in two states of tune. An automatic transmission was also offered as an option with later models.
Mahindra discontinued the XUV500 from the market just before launching the all-new XUV700. Mahindra teased an image of an SUV last year, which is most likely to be the next-generation XUV500. The SUV is likely to be positioned between the flagship XUV700 and the recently launched Scorpio N. This is not the first time we have come across a report where a Mahindra vehicle has covered this many kilometers. In 2021, HV Kumar of HVK forum posted that he had covered more than 6 lakh kilometers in his 2005 Mahindra Scorpio. This was a DI Turbo model that used to come before the CRDe model.
