Bay Area K-pop store celebrates release of new TWICE album

(KRON) — K-pop fans gathered the last weekend of February to celebrate the release of TWICE’s new album called “With YOU-th.”

In this new album, the group wanted to emphasize not only their love for each other but also their fan base “ONCES.”  It’s TWICE’s 13th mini-album.

SarangHello, a K-pop store based in San Francisco, wanted to celebrate TWICE’S comeback with Bay Area fans. The Sunset District-based business set up two pop-up shops in collaboration with Feng Cha Milpitas in San Jose and Foam Tea House in San Francisco.

Not only were the new albums available, but the tea stores also made specialty drinks in honor of TWICE. When fans bought the drinks, they came in special cups with free merch as well.

From Friday through Sunday, fans started lining up long before the doors opened.

This was a huge event for SarangHello as albums are usually shipped from Korea on the release date. It then takes about two weeks before the store can give them out to fans. This time, SarangHello was able to get the albums before the release date.

“It was a milestone for us to be able to sell albums on release day!” one of the owners of SarangHello, Chesca Rueda, said. “Seeing the community come together to celebrate TWICE’s new release was so fun!”

SarangHello has many more events planned for the year including a trading card event the first weekend of March. The world-renowned girl group is well-acquainted with the Bay Area; they performed (no pun intended) twice at the Oakland Arena in June of 2023 for two sold-out shows.

TWICE’s next performance in the U.S. will be in Las Vegas on March 16th.  A lot of Bay Area fans are planning on attending as it’s the encore performance for their latest tour “READY TO BE.”

Worldwide, the group has more than 7 billion streams. TWICE is a 3rd generation K-pop group alongside BLACKPINK and BTS.
